Rebecca Crews is a multi-talented artist who has recently partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue in launching The Rebecca Crews Women’s Collection. Rebecca Crews is also a popular R&B singer. With a new outlook on life following a recent bout with cancer, her new single “Reachin for the Top” is a classic R&B sound with a twist of a neo-soul vibe. Performing music under Regina Madre, a pseudonym meaning ‘Queen Mother,’ Rebecca has deliberately maintained anonymity in her music career to let her voice itself stand on its own, completely independent from her husband’s mega-stardom.
When Rebecca celebrated her 30 wedding anniversary with her husband Terry Crews, she wanted to wear a tuxedo-style outfit. Not being able to find one in any store, Rebecca sought out help from friends to help her create a unique outfit designed especially for her. When Rebecca had to hire three different designers to piece together her vision of her beautiful white tuxedo for her event, she vowed that it was time to start designing and making her clothing.
Her long-time dreams of fashion design were inspired by her mother, Anna, who was the first female and African American executive in her office in 1972. Her mom had to wear business suits to the office, and always took great care in dressing herself. Rebecca loved to see what her mother would wear every day.
If you feel that you are meant to do more, Rebecca encourages you to follow that feeling, that intuition. Rebecca wants to inspire other women to be fearless and risk putting themselves out there and risking failure. Failure always teaches lessons, and failure can get you a step closer to your goals.
Make sure you understand what your customers want and do the work of providing them with a product that they will love. Understand the market and how you promote your offer to them.
There will always be naysayers, so surround yourself with positive people who want to see you succeed. That’s where the positive energy is. Focusing on the positive rather than the negative will further your aspirations and dreams.
You can’t be an expert at everything when running your business, but you can hire the experts. Be sure to hire qualified people who will help you reach your goals.
Do not overextend your finances to build your business. Take each step precisely like that, a step towards greatness. Launch your product to a smaller market, and when customers start buying, it’s time to expand. Build your business as demand dictates.
The bottom line is that Rebecca Crews is a wise woman who has challenged herself and will continue to challenge herself as she pursues her dreams. She shares with us that regardless of what your platform is and how large it may be when you strip that away, all entrepreneurs are faced with the same challenges of overcoming fear and going for it. Starting a new venture is scary but rewarding when you follow your dreams.
