Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and Love Actually actress Denise Richards has sparked fury amongst her fans after using a coat instead of a face mask while flying across America. The ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen, 40, recently shared a selfie from onboard her flight, revealing that she had chosen to cover her face with a coat instead of the recommended face mask.

Documenting her maskless travel, Denise shared a selfie from her fight for her 1.4 million followers to see.
Sharing the close-up shot, Denise wrote: “‘Anyone that is upset that I [am] not wearing a mask.
“I’m hiding under a hoody amd [sic] a huge winter coat.
“Please. Thicker than any mask!!!!!!”

The move sparked fury amongst social media users who were angry at the star’s disregard of health and safety guidelines.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urges people travelling across the US to wear a protective face covering across their nose and mouth during the Covid pandemic.
However, Denise instead opted to use her “hoodie and coat” to cover her face, causing a flood of outrage from Instagram users.
Denise’s followers took to her latest post to air their views on her stance on face masks.
Despite Denise posting a cute picture of her dog Bentley in front of her Christmas tree, the star’s fans didn’t hesitate to relay their thoughts on the mask controversy in the comments section.
Maritn2000 wrote: “Why is it ok for you not to wear a mask and everyone else needs too?”
While christinegas76 asked: “Did you bring covid home to your family when not wearing a mask? A really simple way to help stop the spread.”
“A hoody is not a substitute for a mask genius!! Think of others…” Adrienneamado penned.

Another wrote: “You’re a [clown],” using an emoji to demonstrate their point.
The RHOBH star is thought to have travelled from Oklahoma, where masks are not necessary, to California, where they are mandatory.
Denise resides in the sunshine state with her husband Aaron Phypers.

The country has so far recorded an average 51.1 million cases.
With the Omicron variant spreading rapidly across the country, travellers have been urged to protect themselves and others by wearing face masks in public spaces.
