Would-be entrepreneurs with innovative solutions are being offered free advice from engineering experts to advance their proposals.
The Worshipful Company of Engineers has launched the new service to promote the success of first- time engineering entrepreneurs.
In fulfilling its charitable objectives members of the Company are willing to offer their considerable knowledge and experience with a pro bono consultation.
A spokesperson for the Company said: “Christmas and New Year is an opportunity to reflect on the year past and the year ahead.
“Perhaps you have thought about all the good ideas that have not quite come to fruition for a variety of reason.
“If that’s the case in your circumstances, help may be at hand for ‘would-be’ and ‘first-time’ entrepreneurs.”
They added: “Not everyone has the good fortune to know someone they can ask for help. For the lack of such help, many innovative ideas do not see the light of day.
“So, if you are a first-time engineering entrepreneur and in a technology hole, for want of finding the help you need from an expert in materials, products, processes, business organisation, permits and licences, finance or law, we are here to provide some signposts and guidance.”
