WILLIAMSBURG — GYMGUYZ Williamsburg, a fully-owned and operated female business, will celebrate its second anniversary by sponsoring a community health fair on Thursday, Jan. 6.
The Kingsmill Community Services Association (KCSA) Lifestyle and Kingsmill Athletics Club “Change Starts Now Inside and Out” Health and Wellness Fair will be held at the Kingsmill Mount’s Bay Recreation Center, 101 Tutter’s Neck at 3 p.m.
GYMGUYZ Williamsburg owner Kristin Doherty will kick off the event with a welcome speech followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce.
There will be three vendors and featured speakers who will discuss health and wellness topics on how “change starts now inside and out” in 2022. Throughout the day, DJ Matt Chambers from Squared Away Entertainment will provide entertainment, hosting interactive game shows with health and wellness trivia until 5 p.m.
There will also be a scavenger hunt card for all attendees to be entered to win a grand prize, with all vendors donate $25 raffle prizes that will be given out every 20 minutes.
“I’m proud to be celebrating GYMGUYZ Williamsburg’s second anniversary as we opened right before the pandemic started and are still open and growing,” Doherty said. “We thought ‘what better way to ring in the New Year and celebrate than to provide health and wellness tips from a community of vendors?’”
At 6 p.m., GYMGUYZ Williamsburg will host a free 45-minute workout class open to everyone in attendance as an introduction to GYMGUYZ Williamsburg and for all fitness levels.
The class will showcase GYMGUYZ Williamsburg’s different types of workouts and equipment it uses, and will be accepting voluntary donations to benefit the The Arc of Greater Williamsburg.
The event will feature a number of vendors in attendance, including Defiant Direct Primary Care, Katie Just Styled, Lokal Café, Simply Whole, The Prescription Shoppe, Colonial Eye Care, and Kingsmill Resort Spa.
Featured guest speakers will include Creating Legacy Wellness’ Kim Goeltom with “How to Create a Boundary in the New Year,” Katie Just Styled’s Katie Allen with “How to Create Confidence from Your Closet” and the Prescription Shoppe’s Dr. Jade Ranger with “Importance of Patients Playing an Active Role in their Healthcare.”
Doherty launched GYMGUYZ, a mobile gym that brings the workout to people in the community, in January 2020. GYMGUYZ Williamsburg is a part of the in-home, onsite and virtual personal training company that has over 150 locations in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom.
