SEM will host Anselmo-Merna for a girls and boys basketball doubleheader tonight. The girls matchup features two teams that have been ranked by the Omaha World Herald in their respective class. Anselmo-Merna enters at 10-4 and have won five of their last six. SEM started the season 10-0 but have lost their last two. AM is led by Jaide Chandler who averages 14 points per game and Shaylyn Safranek averages 13 per game. SEM is led by Sophomore Mikah O’Neill who averages 14.9 per game. The boys game will feature 9-5 Anselmo-Merna against 8-3 SEM. AM is led by Wyat Lambertson and Dalton Duryea who each average 11 points per game. SEM is led by Kellen Eggleston who averages 13.5 ppg and Creyton Line averages 12.7. The girls game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow. The games will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com. A special live video stream of the games, accompanied by the radio call, will be available on the KCNI/KBBN You Tube page and on the Sandhills Express Facebook page.
The Broken Bow girls basketball team will step up a class tonight when they play Class B #2 Elkhorn North. North is 13-1 with their only loss coming to undefeated Omaha Skutt. Broken Bow is top ten ranked in Class C1 and is 11-2. The Lady Indians have won five in a row. Tonight’s game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. at Grand Island Central Catholic High School.
