The hiring continues at desert casinos, this time at Fantasy Springs Resort in Indio.
The casino will host an on-site job fair from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 at its special events center.
At least 90 positions are available, including restaurant server, sous chef, restaurant manager, baker, cook, cash operations, cage cashier, table games dealers and floor supervisors. As for pay, a casino representative said “we are competitive and most positions exceed minimum wage.”
The first 50 applicants to arrive will get a $50 gift card, according to the casino.

A retail property occupied by Smart & Final Extra! in Murrieta sold for $8.5 million, according to Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors.
The 20,750-square-foot building was built in 2003 on 2.16 acres at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Los Alamos Road.
Hanley’s Bill Asher and Jeff Lefko represented the seller, an unidentified partnership in San Diego. The buyer, Anza Drive Properties in Los Angeles County, was represented by Stevenson Real Estate Services in Glendale.
“We generated 10 competitive and qualified offers in the first two weeks of marketing, showing the unprecedented demand for essential ‘daily needs’ single-tenant grocery investments,” Asher said.
Asher said investors also were attracted to Smart & Final’s long-term lease, the area’s affluent demographics and growing population.
The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino has received a $200,000 grant from Bank of America to help businesses owned and operated by Black, Indigenous and people of color businesses in the Inland Empire.
The money will help fund three new programs for minority entrepreneurs designed to help the region’s small businesses recover from and prepare for any future economic challenges.
The programs include a training program to teach the fundamentals of small business management;teaching key concepts that lead to growth; and a peer-mentoring program.
IECE said it expects the grant will help 250 business owners create or sustain about 650 jobs.
Altais, a healthcare company, is opening a medical group in February in Riverside.
Altais Medical Group Riverside provides services including routine check-ups, specialized cardiac, obstetric, gynecologic, urologic and gastroenterological care.

Luke Rivera has joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Industrial Tenant Representation team in the Inland Empire Senior as a senior associate. He joined the commercial real estate brokerage in 2019 and has served in a brokerage role representing industrial tenants as well as owners/developers in the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire markets. Rivera’s job now will be focused on serving property owners in the Southern California region. As part of the move, he is relocating to Cushman’s Inland Empire office in Ontario from the firm’s Downtown Los Angeles location. During his career at Cushman & Wakefield, he has leased and sold more than 2.4 million square feet of industrial space, according to the company.
Marc Sawyer is the new chief development officer for Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire. Th nonprofit grants wishes to critically-ill children. His role will be focused on leading fundraising efforts for the organization. Sawyer brings 15 years of fundraising and brand strategy knowledge to the local chapter after working with Make-A-Wish America. Previously, he was part of the national Corporate Alliances team at Make-A-Wish America, where he created national brand partnerships to generate donations for chapter wish-granting efforts across the U.S.
