Our agency has several locations throughout North Carolina and we believe that an integrated approach to mental health that provides services from most intensive to least intensive is one of the best ways to address children’s mental health needs and meet them where they are. We collaborate with our children’s families – biological, extended, or relational, to help children heal.
Overview:
The Marketing and Communications Division is seeking a Marketing Communications Manager who is keenly responsible for communicating the organization’s mission, services, expertise in children’s mental health, and the impact our services have on the communities we serve.
Responsibilities:
• Assists with the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy for internal and external communications
• Writes, edits, and pitches content and press releases externally to position our clinical team as subject matter experts in the field of mental health
• Communicates with media outlets, journalists content creators, bloggers/vloggers; keeps abreast of trends and legislation in mental health
• Manages writing internal and external communications materials and ensures that all content meets message consistency and accuracy
• Develops a content calendar to share positive news, trends in children’s behavioral health, outcomes, volunteer stories, employee engagement, and communications for internal and external channels
• Sources original and guest content for blogs, social media, vlogs, newsletters, and alternative forms of media; generate an archive of evergreen content
• Creates social media content and keeps a social media calendar and an active agency presence across the following platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
• Supports communication for Employee Engagement and HR functions
• Supports the Chief Marketing Officer with executing annual communications plans for the organization, including reports and other forms of communication
• Assists in creating/updating website content and ensures that content is up to date and engaging
• Supports external events and coordinates vendors, deliveries, set up, and décor
• Supports the Referral Development Director, Executive Directors, and Program Managers by creating and managing marketing materials for their service line/program/location and provides expertise on copy and content best practices
• Helps serve as a brand gatekeeper for the organization and creates brand-aligned marketing materials
Education and competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree and four+ years’ experience in marketing/communication (Nonprofit communication experience preferred)
• Skilled in creating powerful, compelling written and oral communications
• Ability to tailor communication to a variety of audiences
• Ability to convey complex ideas through communication; copywriting skills a plus
• Professional experience with social media management
• Proficiency in Canva or similar graphic design software
• Familiarity with Active Campaign (or other email marketing software) and WordPress a plus
• Excellent computer skills, along with the ability to adapt to changing technologies
• Superior organizational skills, including managing multiple tasks effectively with strict attention to detail
• Professional presentation and ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Problem-solver who takes initiative has a “can-do” attitude
Qualifications:
Must be self-directed, innovative, proactive, and possess a quick-start work style with the ability to follow through on creative ideas. This position is mostly remote, with occasional appearances in the office to support marketing/communications objectives. Must have superior communication skills both oral and written. Must have some experience serving as a liaison between the company and vendors (creative, print, etc.). There must be a strong working knowledge of, and current experience with, multiple communication disciplines including advertising, public relations, social media, digital marketing, video, collateral development, and event support.
