On YourConroeNews.com: Organizers planning for full fair experience in 2022
As the event approaches, organizers are already in intense planning mode.
Montgomery County Fair Association Executive Director Brian Hayes said in January the 2022 event will be closer to the full fair experience that fans have come to know and love.
Several events like Kids’ Days and Senior Citizen’s Day which could not take place in 2021 are back. Also expect a refreshed layout of the fairgrounds and a few new things to experience at the fair.
The old Horseshoe Club came down in 2021. The carnival will expand into that space. A new 40 by 120 tent will be by the arena and will be named “The Horseshoe Club.” Inside, the Frost Bank Wine Garden will be on one side and the Karbach Ranch Water Saloon will be on the other side.
Also for those itching to get their fair experience started early, for the first time, Crabtree Carnival is expected to be open the Thursday night prior to the fair opening. Hayes explained this will offer a full fair experience to exhibitors who are coming in on Thursday during the day ahead of their Friday judging. The carnival night will be open to the public as well.
The rodeos on Friday and Saturday night are a highlight of the first weekend of the fair and the concerts after always draw a big crowd.
Kody West’s drive for touring and live shows have him and his band making a stop at the Montgomery County Fair on March 25.
West is a native of Denton, Texas in the Dallas Fort Worth area. West and band released their first debut album “Green” in April 2017. Ever since they’ve been traveling across the country touring and performing as a supporting act for artists like Charlie Robison, Whiskey Myers and Koe Wetzel.
Their most recent effort “Overgrown” was recorded in Denton. In 2018, West was featured with Jason Cassidy as a part of the City of Conroe’s First Thursday Free Concert Series at Heritage Place Park.
