Jill Kintner can wreck a downhill mountain bike course. Her professional record precedes her, but Red Bull’s ‘Bandit Hill’ swings wide of the typical stoke video to tell an altogether different story — via an entirely different medium.
Kintner is one of the most dominant multidiscipline female cyclists of all time. She has won every possible four-cross mountain biking title at some point in her career, along with a wide array of notable BMX titles.
She’s also an artist and nature lover. That’s the side of Jill Kintner that Red Bull spotlights in the live-action/animated short “Bandit Hill.” The quick vignette drops the world-class downhiller into an enchanted forest inhabited by three unlikely friends — a squirrel, a fox, and a snail.
It’s a smash for kids or adults — picture Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr. Fox or Shel Silverstein’s poetry set to Space Jam-style animation.
All in all, get ready for an unorthodox, refreshing clip featuring one of the best to ever compete in women’s cycling.

Sam has roamed the American continent to follow adventures, explore natural wonders, and find good stories. After going to college to be a writer, he got distracted (or saved) by rock climbing and spent most of the next decade on the road, supporting himself with trade work. He’s had addresses in the Adirondack Mountains, Las Vegas, and somehow Kansas, but his heart belongs in the Texas hill country.
