WOW.
WOWWWWWWWWWWW.
That’s pretty much it when it comes to the giant trade report that dropped on Tuesday afternoon as the NBA deadline for making deals approaches on Thursday.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski says the Indiana Pacers — who are in the middle of a tear-it-all-down rebuild — have dealt star forward Domantas Sabonis, Jeremy Lamb and Justin Holiday to the Sacramento Kings.
In exchange? Buddy Hield, Tristan Thompson, a second-rounder in 2027 … and Tyrese Haliburton.
That’s not a typo. The Kings dealt one of the best young guards in the NBA. Yes, Sabonis is terrific in his own right.
But how do you trade Haliburton? Everyone from NBA players to fans wanted to know the same thing.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE KINGS TRADED HALIBURTON! https://t.co/2znLTdZAgA

Haliburton is the type of player you don’t trade away. Just saying.
— Grant Liffmann (@GrantLiffmann) February 8, 2022
I can't believe the Kings are trading Haliburton.
ridiculous.
Dude is shooting above 41% from downtown for his career (on five attempts per game).
And over his last 25 games, Haliburton is averaging 9.4 assists vs. just 2.6 turnovers.
ridiculous.

“Domantas Sabonis is the perfect player to trade for if you’re a team looking to get over the hump.”
Kings: SO YOU MEAN US
“No, not at all, you’re not”
Kings: HALIBURTON? DONE. SOLD! WANT AN EXPIRING TOO?! WE’RE MAKING A RUN
— Hardwood Paroxysm (@HPbasketball) February 8, 2022
Tyrese Haliburton is an excellent, young, budding star on a rookie contract and wow, are the Kings serious?
— Josh Newman (@Joshua_Newman) February 8, 2022
choosing Fox > Haliburton is a choice.
especially if you’re getting Sabonis.

Tyrese Haliburton is going to be an (*Eastern Conference) All Star someday https://t.co/tvAj7Al27v

THEY TRADED HALIBURTON???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
— AFunkyDiabetic (@FunkyDiabetic1) February 8, 2022
have the Kings seen Haliburton play?
— Rob Perez (@WorldWideWob) February 8, 2022
Haliburton the best thing to happen to Sacramento since boogie and they trade him a year later lmao idiots
— Brandon Awadis (@brawadis) February 8, 2022
Sabonis is good. But moving Haliburton, a second-year, 21-year old guard who hands out seven-plus assists and shoots 40% from three … I don't know.

This… is all it took to get Haliburton??? https://t.co/YXz8nov4eX

Tyrese Haliburton is the definition of a young cornerstone player.
The Indiana Pacers are the winners of the trade deadline and it's not even close.
