Football recruiting: Lakeland DL Brownlow-Dindy holds top spot in USA Today Top 100 – TCPalm

With the early signing period a week away, the USA Today Florida Network is releasing its final top 100 for the class of 2022.
Lakeland defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, who flipped from Oklahoma to Texas A&M on Monday, remains No. 1.
The lone newcomer to the top 10 is Dillard defensive end Nyjalik Kelly, who checks in at No. 9.
Two of the biggest risers from the midseason list are Cardinal Gibbons defensive end R Mason Thomas and Clearwater Academy International defensive lineman Isaiah Hastings.
Thomas jumped 65 spots to No. 29. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder has 18 tackles for loss and 11 sacks for Gibbons, which will play Cocoa in the Class 4A state championship game.
“Relentless motor, that’s the obvious thing,” Cardinal Gibbons coach Matt DuBuc said. “The guy doesn’t take a play off. He has moves at the line of scrimmage and he’s very difficult to defend him as a tackle. When you have to double team him it gets more one-on-one matchups for guys inside. He’s demanding a double team, which is helping everyone else.”

Hastings, a Toronto, Canada native, moved up 50 spots from No. 76 to No. 26.The Alabama commit registered 11 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and 24 quarterback hurries in his lone season at CAI.
“Obviously he’s not got a ton of football under his belt,” Clearwater Academy International coach Jesse Chinchar said. “The strides he made this season were amazing. He’s probably 10x’d his skills by being able to get coached up and play everyday.
“His first camp, he didn’t even really know how to line up — and no fault of his own, he just hadn’t really been coached. But this is a kid who watches coaches clinics on his own time. He’s not just a freak, he’s dedicated to getting better everyday.”
