Do you recognize these Bay Area celebrities from their childhood photos? – SFGate

Rising stars Shannen Doherty, Lisanne Falk, Kim Walker and Winona Ryder on set of the film “Heathers” in1988.
They’re some of the most famous faces in the Bay Area. But can you recognize them from their yearbook photos?
One of the most surprising locals on the list is Barbara Eden, who catapulted to global fame when she took the titular role in “I Dream of Jeannie.” Eden, who went by Barbara Huffman as a girl, grew up in San Francisco with her mother and stepfather. Early on, she expressed an interest in performing. As a teen, she studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music while attending Lincoln High.
According to the 1949 Lincoln yearbook, Eden was known to friends as “Huffie,” and she listed music among her “likes.” Two years later, Eden won the title of Miss San Francisco. By the mid-1950s, she’d become a regular on Johnny Carson, and she appeared on episodes of many of top TV shows of the era, from “I Love Lucy” to “Rawhide.” In 1965, she was approached about a role in a new show about a genie named Jeannie. Five years and over 100 episodes later, Eden would be a household name as the most famous television genie of all time.
Eden still makes regular TV guest appearances and now lives in Beverly Hills.
Think you can identify Bay Area celebs from their childhood or yearbook photos? Scroll through the gallery below to test your skills:
This adorable mop-top’s signature look as an adult is a less whimsical than his tiger sweatshirt here.
He grew up to become musician Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day. Although Green Day is inextricably linked with 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, Armstrong attended schools in Crockett and Pinole.
This Serra High grad is a lot more suave these days.
That goofball is Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Brady grew up in San Mateo idolizing 49ers quarterback Joe Montana.
This Hillsborough kid started modeling as a young girl and had her first major role in a 1992 episode of “The Wonder Years.”
