Reno’s finest are back.
Reno 911! Defunded is set to launch 11 episodes, 30-minutes long on the Roku Channel on Friday, February 25. The original cast is returning and will be joined by guest stars Jamie Lee Curtis, “Weird Al” Yankovic and George Lopez.
“After the defunding, they said nothing would feel that different,” Lt. Jim Dangle (Thomas Lennon) says as the trailer begins, but clearly it does, not just when it comes to what he’s wearing (and not wearing) or standing behind but also in the restrooms.

“It’s 2022. Crime is on the rise, but one city is never short on heroes,” Roku teases. “Reno’s finest are back and this time they’re facing their biggest challenge yet — they’ve been defunded! No budget. No back-up. No problem for your favorite top cops as they return along with a squad room full of guest stars for a season low on resources and high on chaos.” Original cast members also returning in addition to Lennon are Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Niecy Nash, and Cedric Yarbrough.
“Reno 911! is one of the funniest comedy TV shows ever made and we could not be more excited to release a brand new, supersized, never-before-seen season as a Roku Original,” Colin Davis, Head of Scripted Originals, Roku, said in a statement. “Prepare to laugh!”
The series was created by Garant, Lennon, and Kenney-Silver. Joining them as executive producers are Yarbrough, Nash, Carlos Alazraqui, Wendi McLendon-Covey, John Landgraf, Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher, Danny Devito, Peter Principato, Christian Hoffman, and David Lincoln. Robert Ben Garant, Lincoln and Hoffman direct.
