Charlotte Dawson, 29, is the daughter of legendary comedian Les Dawson who died in 1993 at the age of just 62 after a heart attack. Les had been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes prior to his death, when Charlotte was just eight months old.
Almost three decades on, the Celebs Go Dating star has opened up about her own health fears after doctors warned her she could die the same way as her dad if she did not make a serious change to her lifestyle.
She admitted her diet used to consist of fatty foods and she wasn’t a huge fan of exercise.
She also says it would not be unheard of for her to eat three takeaways in one day and would happily order a “McDonald’s for breakfast, KFC for lunch and chips for dinner”.
Charlotte, who was a size 14-16 and weighed 12.5 stone, sought medical advice in June when she started to feel dizzy.

She was told her high-fat diet was putting her health at risk and could lead to Type 2 diabetes, just like her dad.
The condition causes the level of sugar in the blood to become too high.
It can lead to heart disease, blindness, nerve damage and strokes.
Type 2 diabetes is linked to being overweight, inactive, or having a history of the condition in the family.

After the devastating revelation, Charlotte was motivated to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Her lifestyle overhaul became even more important after the birth of her first child, Noah, who she welcomed at the beginning of the year with her fiancé Matthew Sarsfield.
She told Fabulous magazine: “My dad died when I was Noah’s age. When Noah turned eight months old in September, it broke my heart.
“He’s already such a character and the way he lights up when he’s with his dad… It really hurts that my dad died when I was that age.”

Charlotte went on to say it “breaks her heart” that her father never got to meet her son.
However, she added she believes baby Noah is Les “reincarnated”, because she sees so much of her father in him.
Thanks to a healthier diet and more exercise, Charlotte has lost a whopping four stone and is now a size 8-10.
She told the publication her new diet includes lots of vegetables and protein.
But she admits she still enjoys Prosecco and the occasional takeaway, but limits them to weekend treats.
