Plano city officials are asking the community to take a four to five minute, online survey about how the city should be represented in its branding. The city council back in July voted to hire DeKalb-based OC Creative to develop branding for the city.
Alderman John Fawver, who chairs the city council’s community development committee, says the survey covers a number of items depending on a person’s interest in Plano.
Fawver says the survey, and branding, is all about making the city marketable as a place that people and businesses want to be.
The survey is only being offered online. Fawver says it can be taken on any mobile device and can be accessed on the computers that are available at the Plano Community Library.
Fawver also noted that the branding project doesn’t mean the city is throwing away its association with the harvester, an unofficial symbol of community.
Individual survey responses will be kept anonymous. Fawver says the city will only see aggregates of the data. The survey is set close on January 16.
