Fellow celebrities pour messages of support after Kris Aquino breaks up with fiancé – Interaksyon
Fellow celebrities and personalities extended their messages of support after media personality Kris Aquino revealed that she is no longer with former Interior Secretary Mel Sarmiento who used to be her fiancé.
The “Queen of All Media” on Monday posted a series of art cards, screenshots and pictures which showed a story of what happened so far.
“For once, hindi mahaba ang caption. Lahat po klaro, nasa carousel of artcards, pics, and screenshots na. #truth #faith #peaceofmind #peaceinmyheart,” she wrote on Instagram.
Kris on the first art card said that her health “has continued to deteriorate” and that she will “soon fly abroad for further diagnostic tests.”
She also said that she will “do all the treatments and procedures” to help address her “drastic weight loss” and “strengthen” her immunity.
Kris’ medical condition was a major factor in the split, based on the screenshot showing Mel’s “last text message” to her.
She is reported to have five health disorders, namely chronic spontaneous urticaria, severe migraine, hypertension, fibromyalgia, and overproduction of thyroid antibodies.
The media personality also said before that she is being watched for vasculitis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
She has since laid low from showbiz after being diagnosed.
“I have accepted the TRUTH, many complications from having autoimmune may arise, especially because I am immunocompromised and we have been forced to live with a nearly 2-year worldwide pandemic,” Kris said in her post.
She then shared pictures of her participating in medical procedures for her health, as well as Mel’s last text message.
The former public official said that he recalled what her cousin, who is a doctor, has told him about “the responsibility of making sure you don’t get COVID given your autoimmune.”
“That’s the reason I decided not to proceed there because I might further put you at risk and I don’t want to be blamed for it. For the past two days, I had enough time to think about things and accepted the fact that ensuring you don’t get Covid is an enormous responsibility,” he wrote in his text message.
Mel previously said that he went out to buy a phone, got a haircut and bought some clothes. He also went to “Jody’s.”
“Given my nature, who loves to go out, I accept the fact that I already have bubble fatigue and I will not be able to, sad to say, be able to continue living in a bubble. On that note, with a heavy heart, I accepted your offer of letting me go,” he said.
“For I cannot in conscience be able to accept that something will happen to you brought about my going out of the bubble. I will always cherish the happy moments we had together. I do love you, but I guess this is goodbye, for your life is of greatest importance given that you have Bimby and Josh to take care of,” Mel added.

Kris had announced her engagement with Mel in October 2021 but in August, she has already dedicated a birthday post to someone “special” in her life.

It was reported that they were introduced to each other back when he was still a Cabinet member of her brother’s administration.
Following Kris’ disclosure of their split, fellow celebrities and personalities aired their messages of support in the comments.
“Sending you lots of prayers, Kris… be well soon,” Judy Ann Santos commented with emojis of a heart and folding hands.
“Ate, will pray for your strength,” Jolina Magdangal wrote with a heart emoji.
“Praying for you, Kris. If I could help, I would. I know we’re not close but that shouldn’t matter.. if you need me for anything, let me know,” KC Montero said.
“Mahigpit na yakap… you will be in my prayers, Kris. God loves you!!!” Cherry Pie Picache commented with emojis of a heart and folding hands.
“Prayers for you, mare,” Ogie Alcasid wrote.
