The owner of Topflight Fitness says he rented out his business for a party but later requested officers help to remove people from the property
Omaha police broke up a large party near 73rd and Maple streets Saturday night.
Initially, officers were called to Topflight Fitness around 11:20 p.m. A mother, who was trying to pick up her son, reported a large crowd of approximately 100 people drinking and it was getting out of control.
When officers arrived, they observed a crowd of several hundred.

Other calls to 911 reported multiple fights and people refusing to leave. Then, additional OPD crews from other precincts — the Gang Unit, K9 Unit and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office — responded to the disturbance.
Police reported pepper balls were deployed after word spread a security officer might have been injured.
Shortly after that, units began getting calls to respond to the Bucky’s gas station across the street because the crowd started gathering there. The report from OPD said people were damaging property inside.
The owner of Topflight Fitness was at the scene and told officers he made several requests for the crowd to leave before law enforcement arrived. The owner told officers he rented his gym out for a party but then requested officers to help him remove the crowd from the property.
Antiana Swindle and Kiara Hobson, both 21, were arrested.
