New York Giants: Four bold predictions for Week 18 vs. Washington – ClutchPoints

by
The New York Giants Week 18 matchup against the Washington Football Team might be one of the worst games of the year. With both teams eliminated from playoff contention already and with just the NFL draft order seeding to be determined…it is fair to wonder: do either of these teams actually want to win this game? Both franchises will likely be heading into the 2022 NFL draft in search of their quarterback of the future and while Washington head coach Ron Rivera’s job doesn’t seem to be in jeopardy, the same can’t be said about the Giants’ boss, Joe Judge.
Both coaches are in their second year with their respective franchises, but Rivera has gotten his team to the playoffs (2020) and has a better record than Judge has had with less talent on both sides of the ball. With that being said, here are four predictions from Sunday’s Giants-Washington game that will most likely not help Judge in his attempt to keep his job.

4. This will be Jake Fromm’s last career start
While it may sound harsh, it is still the most likely scenario. There is not much of a market for a slow, weak-armed, probably racist, quarterback in the day and age of the NFL. But seriously, Fromm has shown absolutely nothing to suggest that he has a future in the league. His 53.5 passing yards per game is pitiful, as is his 3.7 yards per attempt and 41.4 completion percentage.

3. This game will stay under the already-low 41 total points
Most likely, the Giants are not cracking seven points in this game and if that is the case, all you need to win this bet is for Washington to stay under 35 total points. The good thing for all the bettors out there is that Washington has not hit the 35-point mark even once in the entire 2021 season. Although the over/under of 41 is so low that it screams at the bettor to take the over, you must resist the temptation and take the under for this one.
2. Saquon Barkley will be the Giants’ lone bright spot
Washington has been attacked more through the air in 2021 than they have been taken advantage of in the running game. That doesn’t really open up the game plan to include a heavy dose of Barkley from start to finish but the Giants have no choice but to pound the rock with Barkley due to their quarterback issues. Even though the Giants will not score a touchdown in the game–just two field goals– the former Penn State star will go over 125 total yards for the first time since Week Four.
1. This game will not be as close as the first one
Way back in Week Two, the Giants lost to Washington 30-29 in what was probably New York’s best loss of the season. That was back when they at least had a competent quarterback in Daniel Jones…something they can’t say now for the aforementioned reasons. Also, there is a new play-caller on the Giants side, and Freddie Kitchens has somehow been worse than Jason Garrett–who was the coordinator for Week Two. With the Giants struggling all game on offense, it will only take a couple of scores from Washington to win this football game
