A marketing company has moved from one Harrisburg location to another.
Merit moved this summer to 121 Locust St. in Harrisburg the former offices for Pressley Ridge. Merit moved from the King Mansion on Front Street.
In 2015, Adam Vasquez, the company’s CEO purchased Sacunas, a marketing company, which was founded by Nancy Sacunas in 1990. In 2017, the company moved from Sir Thomas Court in Lower Paxton Township to the King Mansion. The company later changed its name to Merit.
Merit had to move from King Mansion, since the owner of the property began to transform the facility into a full-time event venue.
So Merit decided to look for a new home.
“Merit was growing and feeling the need to have a space where we were the primary and/or sole tenant and could make the space look/feel and function as we needed it to,” Alex Rhodes, COO, Merit said in an e-mail.
And Rhodes says that geographically the new space is in a great location. The new office on Locust Street was completely gutted.
“While we loved our space and time at King Mansion, the new building has been a great move (literally and figuratively) for us in our growth and evolution as a company – to have a space that’s downtown, within walking distance to restaurants and several local clients (Harrisburg University, The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, etc.), plus being in close proximity to the Hilton and the train station is great for our clients and team members in other regions/offices that are traveling in and out,” she said.
Rhodes said that Merit hopes to open the office to freelancers looking for a place to work. The company also hopes to open its lobby space up to serve as a gallery for local artists.
Harrisburg Commercial Interiors was the contractor for the project. Chris Bryce is the landlord.
Merit provides a variety of services including brand redevelopment, strategic business consultation and research, and digital and social strategy. Merit was recently awarded a spot on the Chief Marketer’s list of Top 200 Marketing Agencies of 2022. The company has a presence in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Milwaukee. An it plans to create strategic “clusters” of team members in regions where it doesn’t have an office but has clients in the area.
