A 32-year-old Upstate man was shot to death inside a bar early Friday morning, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.
Deputies said they were called at about 2 a.m. to the El Gordo Bar on Asheville Highway about a shooting.
They said when they arrived, they found a man, later identified as Jose Luis Perez, of Boiling Springs, inside the business with a gunshot wound.
The coroner said Perez died at the scene.
Witnesses told deputies that Perez and a still unidentified man had an argument that escalated.
Friday night the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two people.
Elder Ramirez Escobar, 26, of Una was arrested in a hotel room in North Carolina, according to Lt. Kevin Bobo with Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
According, to Bobo, Escobar has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Tiffany Dawn McAbee, 37, of Spartanburg was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of murder for her actions of aiding Escobar after the incident, Bobo said.
